if you don't even have a reason to root your phone, don't root it. this is not a guide explaining the possibilities or root or what you can do with it, this is a guide on how to root. And yes you can return back to stock after root but then again this guide isn't for returning back to stock, its for how to root purposes only.

I know that I need the ability to tether so if rooting makes this possible it is a must. Other than that I really would have no need for it.

Okay once I have done the PC36IMG.zip I am done correct and the second portion for the evorecovery is just if I want to flash too a custom ROM correct? Or do I have to do this for the root to stick?

The recovery part is just for flashing custom roms.

it's also a good idea to go into recovery & do a Nandriod Backup

The recovery really isn't that hard to do. Follow my guide or watch the videos.


--On a side note--
If someone just rooted their phone to get Wifi Tethering, they can't install a custom rom.

Is there any problems w/ having a rooted phone and an unrooted stock rom?
