Re: Crazy prices closer to launch date

I'd sell mine in a heartbeat for $700, but I wouldn't lie or hide truth to do it.

Re: Crazy prices closer to launch date

Yeah too bad this won't be like the PS3 or Xbox 360 launch where a bunch of systems showed up on eBay and sold for twice the retail price or more. I'd sell my Evo for $1,000 in a heartbeat and go back a week or 2 later and get one for myself. Hopefully there aren't many people out there foolish enough to get suckered into a deal like that.

Re: Crazy prices closer to launch date

Insane. I tried getting one from craigslist last week but was unwilling to pay anything over retail. Now i'm glad I didn't get one. Sprint Store/receipts ftw!!!

Re: Crazy prices closer to launch date

I don't understand why everyone thinks it is idiotic. $400 - $1000 is not a lot of money. If you are in contract it would have been at least $450+tax, assuming $450 is the retail price. In my area that is almost $500 after tax. When the Treo650 launched I paid over $650 for the phone new from Sprint after taxes. I am sure I am not the only one who has done this. Business devices entice business users. Business users have jobs and some of us actually rely on our phones to make us money. I don't know what any of the rest of you guys do, but if something makes me more money or my life easier, I will spend the coin to get it. Nothing crazy about the prices in my opinion.

This phone is no where near a business phone, and stop trying to act like 1k for a phone is a reasonable price no matter what it's use.

guess what. I have my own business. I rely on my phone to reply to my clients. I am doing it fine using Touch Pro 2. And my business, as well as 100% of other businesses won't come crashing down if I do not get this particular phone 3 days earlier. I make a decent living off my business, but I am not paying over double of non contract price.

Re: Crazy prices closer to launch date

I never once suggested that my business would come crashing if I didn't have this phone early... I said I rely on a phone to make money. The $450 retail is still unconfirmed, is it not? My point is, the Treo600, Treo650, Touch Pro and the Touch Pro 2 where all retail of $600. It could be argued that this phone is nicer than all of them. I paid full retail for my Treo650 which was over $650 after taxes and shipping. By this point, I wouldn't pay to get the phone early, but I would have at the day of the I/O had I not been able to work a new contract price. I am pumped about the phone, but I would probably say I was more excited about the Treo650 than this device. You guys can spend your money however you want, but if me (a lowly working class guy) can say that $1000 isn't a lot of money, then it is absurd to think that if someone wants something they won't gladly spend it to buy the phone.

The 450 is confirmed. It's on a sprint's own flyer.
