Re: A Question about Video/Movies...
Of I see what you are saying, I think the difference would be if you intend on actually playing this on an external display, if not then it would take up extra space if all you ever gonna do is play it on your phone.

Re: A Question about Video/Movies...
The only problem I have with the guide is that it advises that you turn off the option to keep aspect ratio. If you are as picky as me you'll be upset as it stretches the video. I would set the max width and have it keep the aspect ratio. You'll get black bars on movies, but at least they won't be stretched out. My Evo is waiting for me at home, so I'll be experimenting with handbrake tonight and tomorrow.

Re: A Question about Video/Movies...
Ok, I got my Evo last night and did some tests with handbrake. Here's what I discovered:
-You need to get Meridian. Makes movie watching much more enjoyable and will allow you to resume where you left off even with multiple videos half way watched. -Converted SD XviD to M4V and kept resolution the same (624x352). Plays fine and took about 3 min to convert a half hour show. (~150MB for 20 min TV Ep) -Converted 720p MKV to native screen resolution width ( 800x448 ). Played great and converted at about 1.5x real-time. -Converted 720p MKV to M4V while keeping resolution the same (1280x720). Plays flawlessly. Would probably be the best for HDMI output, but I still need to get an HDMI cable for testing. (~1GB/hr or 800MB for 40 min TV ep.) UPDATE: I also tried a 1080p sample just for the hell of it. Meridian shows it as playable, but refuses to even start it. |

Re: A Question about Video/Movies...
Okay, so I'm having an issue with Handbrake.
I pick my .avi file, UNcheck 'Keep Aspect Ratio', and then change the aspect ratio to 800x480. However, the ratio won't stay that way. So, if I have a file that is 652x264, I can't go above either one of those numbers when changing the aspect ratio. Did I see some people saying that they kept their ratio? I HATE stretched movies, and honestly, I LOVE the black bars (widescreen), so should I just keep it as is?? -Touche'
