Re: Qik video calling free to Evo users
Yeah I agree. I wonder if Fring and Skype scared em into keeping the basic features free. No idea what they could possibly make "premium"

Re: Qik video calling free to Evo users
unless theirs gonna be a "call with qik" or a dialer somewhere in the app.. i dont see how its a video call with qik.. maybe someone with an evo can chime in..
i assumed qik with the FFC now involved, was going to be more like how qik really works.. expecting 2 qik users to be talking to one another online.. qik as it is on PC, is more like Cam2Cam or Cam2Chat really.. two users log in and view each others "qik page" while streaming their feed off the phone or webcam..(even on a PC, ive always used my phone to stream).. this is just like stickam.com as well.. i figured the app would work same way.. i turn on my qik on, you turn yours on as well, probably search for each other or have a friends list, connect, now were streaming to one another and can see one another... see how my idea isnt video calling? youd have to either stay logged in, or via text or phone call even get ahold of who you want and tell them to get on qik...

Re: Qik video calling free to Evo users
The Premium fee could be a number of things, but this is what I think they may be.
- Skype like feature for calling $4.99 flat fee for unlimited calls - 720P resolution video calling feature Those seem like something that would be worth $4.99 a month....but I'm just glad to hear the Video to Video calling is free, and has been cleared up by Qik themselves. I actually e-mail them last night asking, in detail what there reasoning was behind the $4.99 charge, well we don't have a difinitive answer yet, but atleast they cleared up the phone to phone video calling is still free. What do you guys think It might be? |

Re: Qik video calling free to Evo users
Video call as in Qik to Qik just like Skype to Skype or Fring to whatever. Video chat I guess is a better term which is what they use. I will re edit my original post to chat
