kickstand: FTW yaaaaaay the EVO has a kickstand! GTFO with that isht LOL this IMO is the most underrated feature. Youve never had a kickstand so its easy to say your not missing anything, but now having that as a option, im sure ull use it. CUZ ITS THERE! lol. watchin movies, propping on ur dresser as a alarm clock, etc. its a convenience feature. if this was an option on the ipad, it woulda made it a whole lot more practical.

Forward Facing Camera: new for cdma smartphones only...most stupid flip phones have a cam on front...and without 4G your front cam on an EVO is a valuable as a free flip phone at sprint that has on cam on front....., NOT new on gsm by any means, sprints late again..new to the STATES, what USA GSM carrier has ever had an ACTIVE front facing cam?

QIK: is this a joke? i used to run this on my Mogul 3 yrs ago.. nothing new, nothing fantastic.. any winMO device can run it just about.. and now its rumored thats its $5 extra a month to use the enhanced video chat as well http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/05...-extra-5month/
tell me, how WELL does the Qik software run on WM? can you video call on ur TP2? nuff said

YouTubeHD: read the reviews.. an improvement, but nothing close to what was expected..nothing is ever as good as it seems. there will always be poits where it can be better. its a step up from SD youtube. and you appreciate it more on the EVO screen.

8MP Cam: whoopty doo! im sure some devices 3MP or 5MP will stand up just fine if compared.. (the Nokia N96 is 5MP, but has Carl Zeiss optics, ill bet its cam stands up to the EVO)..Its a camera-PHONE, no camera phone will ever replace a digi-cam, unless u stick android on digicam and not the other way around.[/b]

720p Record: SWEET! now try to pic mail(wont even happen) or email that 50MB 1min vid somewhere from your phone... can you say "Got a minute, have a snickers" this CLEARLY was never meant to be a function of picturemail. hell, current picmail already compresses the hell outta video as it is! its for shooting decent quality vids for your own enjoyment. its still a CAMERA-Phone people!

Battery: what, the one sprint is warning us that it consumes high amounts of power.. http://www.phonedog.com/2010/05/27/s...-that-battery/
read it.. wanna know how sprint tells you to save battery life?? turn off 4G, wifi, bluetooth, gps, send/recieve, hotspot, and live wallpaper..umm dont we use that stuff all the time though?? 4G aside...thats with ANY battery powered device! every thing is speced to the minimal amount of usage! they're called IDEAL usage specs! Ive never owned a device that followed the battery life specs to a T, unless i pretty much had it on standby the entire time

4.3" screen: honestly, big freeeking deal.. its .5" bigger than other phones.. whatcha gonna do with that extra screen space, actually use your WHOLE finger to press instead of the tip or your nail..(you guys do know that you have to use your fingers right, theres not stylus here) 4.3 CAPACITIVE screen. don't downplay the half an inch u gain, makes the user experience a lot better when you have a nice roomy screen with FINGER friendly applications. so yea, its a big deal. literally.

but were all just lying to ourselves really..take 4G away(which you kind of have to since not alot of people get to use it)... and this phone isnt much different than several other phones already on the market... u take away anything GREAT from something, and it loses its appeal. take out the supercharger of the CTS-V and u gotta base model CTS. true, but the supercharger is there for a reason, to make it better, and not a base CTS.
for sum1 whose buying the Evo, (per your avy) you sure gotta lotta negative things to say about it. pretty much down playing every feature that stands the phone above the rest. why? you like crapping on stuff for no reason?

if he buys the phone, can't he say wants about it? he "paid to play"

I'm sure there's some obama voters complaining now. maybe they feel 'lied' to? I dunno. (prolly not a good analogy)

I think the reality is that it is great fun to get a new phone, as well as get on a new OS. But it won't solve any of the problems we have, pay any bills, heal anyone, or anything else of real importance. You are right about the right to be critical of something you are getting - then there won't be so many disappointments, because you foresee the issues. I'll never forget the fanboy excitement as the release of the TP1 approached. It didn't take long for it to turn to disillusionment for a great many.

My hope in posting and answering is that folks with a similar experience to mine have realistic expectations, that's all. I don't personally care if anyone does or doesn't get this phone, because they have to live with the consequences, whatever they may be. I've seen kids trying to talk everyone into getting the phone they have - that is immature, because some people just want a phone, and not a complicated device that needs tweaking, etc. There is something to be said for the simplicity and reliability of a simple flip-phone. It's a dis-service to people to talk them into something that may be over their head or beyond their needs.

Great points . Two sides to every argument is very crucial despite the subject at hand.
