Re: Likes & Dislikes of the EVO...

Am I the only one who uses the send and end keys for:

Picking up a call
Ending a call
Opening the dialpad.
Sending a call that i just typed a number in for.

1. I use the touch Answer buton
2. I use the touch End Call button
3. I use the Phone softkey
4. I click Call

I used to do it the way you do, but I found it's more reliable on screen since the buttons are flush with the device and I have big fingers.

I did too, and with the Evo, if you've navigated away from the phone during a call, you HAVE to navigate back to be able to hang up. And to make a call, you can't bring up the dialer with a single press either.

Hmmm... makes you think huh? It would suck not being able to simply press the end key to hang up a call if you're not on the call screen. But aren't all CDMA Android phones this way?

The phone icon should be in the status bar when your connected, just slide down the curtain & click end call...

You are correct. Thanks. It's still an extra step, but let's face it, extra steps have been the name of the game lately. The Mogul was probably the peak for the least number of steps needed for many things, because of 20+ buttons, and combined with AEButton+, it was not only so easy to get around, there were multiple ways to do almost anything.

But we have see "progress" take away good features before. When I was a kid, if I wanted to watch TV after everyone was sleeping, I could turn the volume down, THEN pull the button out to turn the TV on. Now, I have to turn it on first, and then race to get the volume down before it wakes anyone up, or find a workaround, like muting the cable box first, etc.
