Re: Hotspot is Ad-Hoc?
Chances are it is going to be ad-hoc...in any case why not just use a router as and rebroadcast the signal as infrastructure?
there are rumors that Froyo has infrastructure but someone with a nexus one has to confirm it.

Re: Hotspot is Ad-Hoc?
I wouldn't expect it to be ad-hoc, I would think with the quality of the phone and the face that it is maintaining up to 8 connections at once it would he an infrastructure. I had an overdrive unit with Sprint till it broke and it was running an infrastructure connection I believe.

Re: Hotspot is Ad-Hoc?
I've been wondering about this too. Everybody reviews the hotspot feature, but nobody bothers too check wether it's adhoc or infrastructure?! Annoying...

Re: Hotspot is Ad-Hoc?
No it is not ad-hoc however it does have a higher latency so online gaming would suffer. Web browsing and netfilx streaming will work well

Re: Hotspot is Ad-Hoc?
Sorry I can't find the threads at the moment but several early reviewers have stated that it works like a true router. Also mention streaming netflix on a PS3 specifically which would not work if it was ad-hoc. I will track down the exact posts when I get a chance
