EVO hotspot for free capable?

Is there a way to get the hotspot functionality for free? I was thinking when the EVO gets rooted, the devs can come up with a way to do this? How about if you just USB tether it, will you still be able to use it as a modem for just one device? I'd like to get this phone either way, just curious to know if this is possible. Thanks!

Yea it's possible....i have the hero with pdanet (marketplace) and it tethers alright....i preferred tethering with my pro2 tho because it seems to run a bit smoother.

I'm sure when this phone gets rooted, you'll be able to tether wirelessly without having to pay for the 29.99 hotspot fee, and i've heard that's the best way to tether on android so far
