Re: Mossberg Review

Pretty good review, very straight to the point.

I kinda assumed that 4g was gonna be a battery killer, but it still hurts to hear it. I'm okay though, 3g in my city is pretty consistent, unless theres a sports game going on. Sucks that the video chat probably won't get half the use i want it for.

Re: Mossberg Review

I have been crowing all along about my concerns for battery life. This thing is a beast, I bet it requires a lot of juice.

I figured since there is a default widget to turn 4g on/off that it was prolly a drainer

Re: Mossberg Review

Interesting to note that Sprint will be charging you extra for "4G" speeds, but at the same time it will only be available in a few dozen out of nearly 20,000 cities in the USA. And now, according to this and other recent reports, Sprint will be "educating" people to turn 4G off unless they "really" need to use 4G. I'm not the type to complain, but this is pretty ridiculous and will confuse any consumer wanting to buy this device (and rightfully so).

Re: Mossberg Review

Is there a link that cites Sprint said to turn off 4G?

Not that I don't believe the article or anything....I think it is kind of funny.

I can just imagine it now..."Oh hey, here is your new 4G phone. By buying a 4G phone, there will be a $10 fee. Oh by the way, we advise you to turn off 4G whenever possible."

Re: Mossberg Review

Good review. Mossberg doesn't really point out anything that wasn't to be expected, it was the same with the iPhone 3G when Apple was recommending turning off 3G to improve battery life. I'm definitely more concerned with battery life than 4G speeds; I find Sprint's 3G speeds in my area to be quite satisfactory in my area.

Re: Mossberg Review

how many times does it have to be said that they are not "charging you for 4g speeds" but for the huge amount of DATA USE they expect people to use? They are removing the current 5gb cap for both 3g and 4g use. This thing is going to be very data intensive to use and quite a few people will hit that amount quite easily.
