Re: Mossberg Review
Sprint has said repeatedly that while using 4G eats a little more battery, the big battery killer is leaving it on when not in a 4G area (presumably since it's constantly polling for towers).
Since Mossberg's battery tests were most likely done in his home area of DC which doesn't have consistent 4G coverage, I wouldn't take his review as representative of leaving 4G on in other areas. The better your coverage, the less battery you'll use.
As a counterpoint, Engadget (a much more unbiased source, in my opinion) said that the battery life was great. They got over three hours of life using it as a 4G hotspot (ie, WiMax and WiFi radios both sucking down power), and that was on top of two hours of heavy use before that. That blows every other device I've used out of the water.
