Android Froyo 2.2

I heard android froyo 2.2 was going to have a hotspot app built into it...so will we still have to pay sprint or will they take that app away before they pass it to us?

sprint cant take away an app from android market... its not upto Sprint what goes in the market..

ATT tried to not allow Google Voice in iPhone app store and the FCC wanted to know why.... its not easy for The Carrier to block an app

Re: Android Froyo 2.2

Is it built into 2.2 or a market app?

T-Mobile had the tethering app removed when the G1 launched.

Re: Android Froyo 2.2

I have to ask...What does this have to do with the Evo? why couldn't this be posted in the Android apps and games or even the Android general discussion?

And your post accomplishes what exactly?

How's about letting the mods do their job, you know, since you're NOT A MOD

Re: Android Froyo 2.2

Nobody is sure how this will work, though if i had to guess i would say this feature is more then likely able to be disabled from the os through a software upgrade of some sort. The service provider does make changes to the rom and sprint will disable this feature as it goes against their business plan. Someone like verizon will leave this feature active more then likely because they give free wifi tethering with the palm pre, in the end its the carriers choice.

Good enough (like he said I'm not a MOD) I hope the phone does get rooted because I think it will be a while till the release Froyo 2.2 but it will be a nice upgrade when they do get it out.
