Of course no one is happy about paying $10 more but some of us spend more than that on lunch a day so its not going to cause anyone to go homeless. The plan is what it is, pay it or don’t get the EVO, simple as that. I wanted a iphone 3GS bad when it came out but I looked at AT&T’s pricing and I said no thanks. I tried to justify it so many different ways but the pricing is what it is and I choose to pass. Just like you can do now with the EVO.

Re: Why upgrading to an EVO when you're not in a 4G Market is a waste of money

Granted I didn't read all of this thread, so forgive if its been mentioned. NYC is getting 4g way before Jan '11. Sprint has always slated it as "before end of '10" but I think theyre now aiming for end of 2Q or early 3Q. I know theyre testing it out often. As a matter of fact I pulled this from my Overdrive this morning. It didn't last long though :<

Sure is bad azz. a extra $10 a month isnt going to stop me from having the hottest phone on the market. Plus even with the add on its still cheaper than what people are paying with Verizon for the Incredible and AT&T for the iphone.

Re: Why upgrading to an EVO when you're not in a 4G Market is a waste of money

we're definitely getting screwed out of $10 (those not in 4g area), but it's up to you whether to take it with or without lube. for some it will be more painful than others... meaning, brush it off (and get it) or stress out over it (and still get it). And if you're passing on it because of the fee, then you probably don't belong in the top of the line smartphone game anyway.

Re: Why upgrading to an EVO when you're not in a 4G Market is a waste of money

Wow, how do I get into a business where people fall all over themselves to give me extra money, lmao! Not being disrespectful, just sayin'.

My job gets me a discount with VZW, and the only reason I didnt go with the Incredible is because I just resigned 2 of my lines ($150 discount, both SERO).....I'm getting the phone anyway because WinMo sux, but I KNOW I'm getting raped, because I dont think of it as "just" $10....that's not financially smart. It IS $240 over the life of my contract. $480 if I get 2. That's half a G for phones. JUST some phones, lol

I guess some people here haven't been Rate Jacked on their credit cards yet (Credit Crunch), that'll make you pay attention to the numbers, LOL

On a major point......nobody is asking you to buy the phone...
Except Sprint..... I dont like the fee and I've stated my reasons plenty of times and like it or not they make sense, so I'm dont talking about it anymore after this. If it really bothers all of you that much to read the "whining" about the $10 then why even read the thread to begin with? Buy your phone and be happy with it....

Re: Why upgrading to an EVO when you're not in a 4G Market is a waste of money

This reminds me of when we found out the pricing of the TP2 ($350 on contract...WTF??? $600...are you nuts?????). The TP2 being so expensive was the reason I chose the Hero.

Re: Why upgrading to an EVO when you're not in a 4G Market is a waste of money

... all this fee is basically a subsidation fee for the phone because we all know it costs way more than 450
