But again, how is it a "best value" if it's for a service NOT available in most markets. Would you pay extra for cable channels not available in your area even though other markets have them on the promise that they are "coming soon"? Soon when? Tomorrow? Next week? Next month? Next year?

Sprint has NOT been very forthcoming about their rollout dates. Seems very odd about that.

From my understanding the $10 is not for 4G so your argument is invalid. The $10 dollars is for the theoretical high volume of data that EVO users will consume. Hopefully the $10 goes into more rapid rollout of the 4G network.

Bottom line, if you don't like the $10, don't get the EVO.

And on top of that, we don't even have 4G out here yet. We are one of the cities that got added to the updated list or whatever, but as of right now I'm looking at a $40 increase in my bill and not getting any upgrades in service- only upgrading the phone.

I love the phone, but $40 per month on top of my already over $200 bill is some significant cheese to commit to for 2 years.

I sent an email to sprint about family plans. The response was only the Evo phones will be charged $10/mo. So, if you are the only one with an Evo, you only have an additional $10/mo to pay. Not $10 * (# of phones on plan). Granted, this is coming from Sprint customer care, so I could ask the question again, and get another answer, but I just wanted to pass along what I was told by Sprint.

You have a rough unorthodox answer but it is correct...lol

IIRC, I think he said all 4 people on his plan were getting EVOs.

That is the same info I am receiving so I believe it to be correct.

If that's the case....not much I can say. The way he worded it, it sounded like if you add an Evo to a family plan, all lines must pay, regardless of being an Evo, or other phone. Wanted to clear that up for others who may have read it the same way I did.

Only the line with the Evo will have to pay the $10 and if you get 4 Evo's you pave to pay $40 add-on per month.

I have 4 Touch Pro 2s on my family plan right now. If I get 1 Evo, I have to get 4. So it's $40 per month extra for me. And again, this is on top of an already over $200 bill.

That's for MODs to decide. Certainly stating so in the thread isn't helping.
