nice.
the $10 is because the phone is superior to anything they currently offer and you will use more bandwidth, but call it what you want.

you assume we will use more bandwidth. I call it "charging more for 4g" even the 2 reps that have personally called me couldn't tell me what its for. they just knew NOT TO SAY its for 4G. its for "premium data"...but couldn't explain what premium data means. one had the nerve to say its for the phones premium features, like the 2 cameras . WTF? wow, really? thanks. go back to reading your sheet of paper to someone else lady.

..if this phone was NOT 4G, and had the same specs.. they would still be charging an extra 10? I can't believe that.

lmao. Yea.

I think people can say so many things as to what this add on is.
It could be for 4G, faster processor, superior phone capabilities, help fund the clean up for the BP oil spill, help Sprint pay for the subsidized price of the phone, help fight world hunger, .......insert your own reason.

Sprint is intentionally being vague lol.

The $10 plan is so that Dan Hesse can feed his lying mouth with edible gold every day for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, seconds and midnight snack...I mean if its not on a diamond plate he wont even touch the thing...

Ok maybe that was a bit too harsh >.> lol

Sorry, no. The phone's processor is fast enough to load most pages as fast as the data is received. I do this stuff for a living. The only thing that may cause any slowdown is Java.

Man thats exactly how I feel. What makes it worse is how some people, not just here but other forums try to swear that this is not for 4g or try to also come up with some foolish excuse.

I hear the Iphone needs a standard ATT unlimited data plan. Well lets go down the list of phones on Sprint that require a ED plan even though you might not need unlimited text, but hey, you got to pay for it anyway (the Sprint way of life now a days)

-Instinct
-Pre
-Instinct s30
-Hero
-Moment
-Instinct hd

They are all phones that need unlimited plans, cool I fully understand that. Now tell me why Sprint's EVERYTHING DATA, not almost everything but EVERYTHING DATA plans wont work on a data heavy, bandwidth consuming, 4g, how every you want to spin it, phone?

Oh yea, its not for the richer data experience that is stated on Sprint's site, its so they can subsidize the phone for all that are able to get it for the $199 price and so the people that have now choice but to buy it at full price can also get it for &19.... oh wait, they cant get it at that price. To hell with it, let them also pay that fee just so they dont feel left out.

In all honesty, I hope if this charge sticks, than I really hope Sprint starts charging $20 extra once 1.3ghz or 1.5ghz dual core chips come out because its dual core and even faster right?

If you don't believe what we're saying, why don't you run a little experiment yourself so the point can be driven home a bit better:

Get on an old computer lacking in CPU speed and RAM, load up a recent browser of your choice, and load up your favorite website on a good broadband connection. Next, use a newer machine with the same browser and open up that same website on the same connection. I would bet my savings account that the newer machine will load the page much faster, and you'll see what we're talking about.

Not one person here is saying the connection speed is different. The phone's hardware is a bottleneck because it's receiving the information slower than the connection sends it.

EDIT: Or even better, get on Wi-Fi on your phone and then on your laptop. See which one loads your websites faster. A website that loads on my laptop in less than 2 seconds can take up to 60 seconds on my TP2.
No, the phone is more than able to render a page faster than it receives it.

I'm not denying that a 1GHz processor will be better able to provide a snappier interface, but when the limitation on loading a webpage is the internet connection, it is no faster.

the limitation from the tp2 and the evo will not be the internet connection, lol. The evo will load pages about 20 secs faster then the tp2, so what do you blame that on? walk into a verizon store and play with a tp2 and an Incredible, THEY WILL NOT LOAD PAGES AT THE SAME SPEED. you will read the whole page on the incredible before the tp2 even finishes loading.

Tell them that under the ITU-R definitions, it isn't a 4G phone; it can only do two types of 3G.
