Froyo 2.2

will have remote wipe
will be able to move data
can enable as hotspot (tethering)\
BROWSER
2x-3x faster
V8 tech from Chrome
Froyo will have world's fastest mobile browser
larger finger friendly interface
support for flash 10.1
Froyo can move apps to SD card
over the air app downloading
Adobe Flash 10.1 only works with Froyo
Everyone at the event received an Evo

They did say some of the android devices will get the Froyo 2.2 updates in several weeks. Did not say which ones at this time.

Yea, It does take a little wind out of my sales knowing that 2.2 seems like a significant upgrade. Since this is Sprints flagship phone, I assume they will make it available sooner then later. BUT... look how LONG it took them to put 2.1 on the Samsung Moment.. 6 months or so.

The conference attendees are so excited at the Sprint HTC EVO 4G being handed out to everyone here. BUT, it won't get 2.2 update for a few months.

I bet a root beats them to the 2.2 punch

samsung moment is a flagship phone. and even the 2.1 update that is out is crippled. i have faith that with this being the powerhouse that it is, a 2.2 update is coming sooner/later.

I have REALLY good reason to believe that the EVO will get the 2.2 update before the Summer is out. Don't quote me but that's what I'm hearing around the interwebz.

I don't find this to be an unreasonable belief. Sprint is putting a lot into this phone and for good reason. There is waaay more interest in the EVO then there ever was for the Hero or Moment. I would be surprised if Sprint delayed getting the update released, even considering their track record.

On another note, WOW! Google seems to really listen to what the end user wants, and the speed improvements are impressive to say the least. Looking forward to the EVO! Only 2 more weeks!!!
