i have zero clue where that image is from, though i have seen it floating around

i cant find that on their website, its not in their SAVE THE DATE email they sent out yesterday, and its unheard of from sprint reps and best buy reps

i believe that is a misprint ... its ludicrous to even entertain the idea of charging to use wifi features the phone...

It's the fine print at the bottom of www.sprint.com/evo and if it was a misprint, then they would have addressed it by now.

Yes, but that would knock her off of her SERO plan, though she would remain on a Windows device. That would really drive up the cost over time.

Same issue as the other response, while I will have to lose my SERO account to use the EVO, we don't want to lose hers. She can't activate an EVO without upgrading out of SERO

well touche... i dont know... i cant believe they would make it mandatory to charge 29.99 for the sole purpose to use wifi from your own network on the machine.

the way i read it:

"sprint mobile hotspot add-on required to access [htc evo 4g's] wifi on [a separate] device"

Even if it said that, it means the same thing. If you are accessing your own home network via WiFi, then your own home network WiFi router also has access to your Evo via WiFi.

Communication has to be 2 way in order for it to work.

Evo to home router: I want to see this website.
Home router to Evo: Here it is.

Not much different from

I think there are enough un-answered questions that it would be good to let the best hackers buy first, and let's see where a lot of issues really stand. Why should everyone have to jump on-board on the first day? If I had pre-ordered, enough questions have come up that I would cancel until things get resolved.

I feel ya on that one. And also to each their own. Come to think of it, there just may be one block in one city across the 48 contenintal states where T-Mo actually has better coverage than Sprint lol.

But on a serious note, it's funny that people will pay the ETA to switch over a $10 charge.

I honestly don't completely agree with the charge. But for what I pay and what I get, I ain't going nowhere. EVER. Noone can offer me the same service and perks at the same price.

But all in all, if a person dosen't like the charge, they have 2 options. Switch and stope complaining. Or stay and don't get the device. Oh yeah, and ALSO stop complaining.
