Re: Recording from EVO

Yeah, wow...for a 1.3mp cam that has a lens the size of a pinpoint...that's actually great.

IMO, this video sucks. For an 8mp / 720p HD camera, this video looks awfully choppy. My g/f has a Samsung Omnia and her video looks clean & smooth (no pixelation, no choppiness when panning across the landscape... like p-slims video). We'll have to wait until we actually have one in hand, but the EVOs video recording capabilities may be handicapped by the same old HTC video driver problems of the past. I guess we'll know for sure in 22 days.

Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful) is the motto of the Corps. That Marines have lived up to this motto is proved by the fact that there has never been a mutiny, or even the thought of one, among U.S. Marines.

Qik recording is different then the standard built in recording, he took the video with the qik recording instead of the built in video recording app. someone stated earlier that the qik app isn't taking full advantage of the camera. even when i record a qik video on my nexus one, the regular video looks 10x better.

Re: Recording from EVO

I've been playing around with the video camera on my new EVO which I just scored last night and among other things have noticed what many others have about the recorded video not being the smoothest. I was wondering though...since it's being recorded by default to the SD card, perhaps the Class of the card is a factor of the FPS? To my knowledge the included 8 GB card is a class 2 model, perhaps a class 4 or 6 would allow greater capture speeds? The few videos that I've tested so far with the default card show either 17 or 18 FPS when viewing their properties or details, these results were at 720p and 480p respectively. Can somebody that has put a faster class card into their EVO run some tests and see if that helps any? If anybody else has any other suggestions for improving things I'm sure they would be appreciated by all, so please reply with whatever wisdom you might have. Thanks!
