Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))

i currently use qik on the touch pro 2 and it gets decent video. with the evo having a 8mp cam vs the 3.2 on the tp2 how much of a difference is that going to make?

Re: qik and the evo

Well from what I hear tell, even though the EVO records at 720p (1280x720 resolution), it'll only record at ~20fps, so it'll probably be pretty choppy for fast moving recordings. What resolution and fps does the TP2 record at?

The camera's megapixel rating doesn't have all that much to do with video recording.

The tp2 records at a max resolution of 640 by 480 if I am not mistaken but in any case as far as using an evo with qik, it won't be streaming in 720p anyway, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Re: qik and the evo

I think one of the videos demoing Qik on the Evo mentioned that it was currently limited to around 800x480, but they were still playing with different resolutions given the 4G connection on the device.

Re: qik and the evo

I thought the Qik app would make use of the front facing camera. But who cares, I'm waiting for the official EVO chat roulette app!

Re: qik and the evo

This is a video taken w/ Qik on the HTC Incredible. If the Evo tends to be the same or even a smaller step up in camera quality, i'd say we're in for a treat. Definitely better than my TP2.

Also some other camera samples from the HTC Incredible.

Again, if this is a preview of what the Evo has in store, i'm pumped.
