Re: Forced Roam on the the EVO or Android?

So I called Sprint today and explained to them about my shitty coverage and issues because of it. Apparently my house is just outside the coverage area. The lady actually advised me there was nothing they could do because I was completely outside the area and that "i hate to recommend customers switch networks, but you may want to investigate service with a company who supports your area. We will let you out of your contract without any penalties etc."

I asked about the Airrave and she told me that when she entered my address into the computer it would tell her if an airrave would help my situation and if it would she would issue one. She advised that an airrave would not help at all because i am completely outside the coverage area and that the airrave was designed for use in places where there is limited coverage. I asked to try one and she put me on hold and told me i'd have to pay for it. I said no thanks.

Re: Forced Roam on the the EVO or Android?

Thank you for this explanation, I need the forced roam on my evo for that very reason of work. My babysitter cannot call me when needed bc my evo constantly jumps from sprint to roam back to sprint. It is scary when my children need me and they can't get ahold of me. I work in a school, but the landlines are always busy. My babysitter's husband had to actually walk into my classroom to let me know that they had taken my oldest to the hospital. He tried both my cell and landline at work. Very scary.

Re: Forced Roam on the the EVO or Android?

I just typed this into my evo, it says extracting files, how long does this take? Just wondering. It seems to be taking forever. Then what steps do I take? I just received my evo last week and I am running android 2.2.

Re: Forced Roam on the the EVO or Android?

be careful with roaming, if you use a majority of your min roaming or over 800 min per month your service may be terminated. its in most of the new tos and plan guides.

Is there any program that doesn't cost money? Would like to try it out before I pay any money.

Roam control works for me. But it keeps restarting on my bro's EVO. We use the same ROM.

Hey, I'm the dev for Roam Control. Have him email me, I'm curious what you mean about it restarting.
