This sounds like it could get pretty pricey for the EVO when it comes out.

If the price goes up I would up some of the cost would be subsidized by either Google, the developer of android, or by Sprint. If it is too high, I can't see Sprint being able to retain a lot of those customers that it mentions are leaving. This will especially true if the iphone does go to Verizon as there are bound to be sprint customers who would jump ship because they want the iphone but not AT&T. I hope the price stays reasonable. The hero has been a good phone for me and I think the EVO would be a great follow up for me to upgrade to.

If this is going to be the case I may stick with my Pre and see what HPalm will have for their first release. HTC may have missed out on owning it's own mobile OS and will now have to pay royalties for someone else's mobile OS.
