Second, porting winmo to an android phone would be against the law because it does not have a license for it.

Re: Anyone working on ROM development to port in WM
that's like buying a mac and putting windows on it
that's like buying a ferrari, opening the hood only to find an engine from a dodge neon inside that's like buying an expensive hooker but you have to have sex with your clothes on that's like buying an iphone for better network coverage that's like buying a Veyron to drive on the autobahn at 35mph that's like uhmm let me stop, im exaggerating.. what's not to like about Andriod? lots of possibilities with it and can be customized just like windows mobile, if not better.

I can understand where the OP is coming from, though I'd rather have the ability to dual boot WinMo/Android instead of getting rid of Android, since it's a fact that Android is far superior. ![]()

Re: Anyone working on ROM development to port in WM
Since nobody is giving a real answer........
It's not possible to run Windows Mobile on Android devices. While there has been ports to do the reverse (Android on WM) like AndrOMINA, the hardware has to support Windows Mobile (which some CPUs don't) and the SPL (Secondary Program Loader) has to be configured to boot the WM ROM. Android devices have their NAND Chips divided into various partitions, however WM has it all-in-one partition (correct me if I'm wrong). Why do you want Windows Mobile on an Android device? Unless you know your techie stuff, pay Microsoft for the Windows Mobile source code, compile and test it on your Android device, not to mention the tasks of flashing, rooting, etc. In other words, if you want Windows Mobile, go buy a WM phone that's out on the market today. Otherwise, if you get an Android phone, get used to android.

Re: Anyone working on ROM development to port in WM
I am just pissed/scared that Sprint skipped the 4+LCD market for WM phones... There was rumors that the Leo was coming to CDMA and therefore the HD2 TP3 whatever was to be a WM device. They seemed to drop that plan and jump the Andriod hype.
I run medical applications that are both palm and WM, I just emulate palm on WM to access both. Currently there is no products that I am registered for under Andriod. My best idea is to superCID another carrier and change some NAM configurations and test if I can maintain my sprint plan--which by the way is heavily discounted OLD plan... I dont want to pay more than $100 for 4 lines with 3200+ talk time and data, txt, mms, etc... |

Re: Anyone working on ROM development to port in WM
You need to learn more about Android. WM contains NOTHING of irreplaceable value.
