Froyo on Evo at some point?

This article from Pocketnow got me thinking:

Supposedly, Google will now be able to push updates to phones. If Froyo puts google in charge of updates to android, how would that affect phones with Sense/MotoBlur/etc overlays on Android? If the update is to Google Maps/Buzz/etc, that shouldn't affect anything Sense related. But what about major changes to the source code in Android? Would Google send out an update that would kill something on the phones, and we would just be at the mercy of HTC to release an update of Sense?

unless htc starts pushing sence as an addon like how google is doing it wouldnt work htc would still be the ones to push it

Great, now instead of complaining that I don't have 2.1 on my Hero, I'm going to be complaining that i don't have Froyo on my EVO. Thanks HTC, I will never be happy.

look at the droid. it got 2.1 4 months after release. the hero is getting it within 7 months. so we'll only have to wait an extra 3 months if the pattern holds

(that is between a vanilla android release and a sense release)
