I was advised this weekend by a "Shack" employee that pre orders would be starting this week.

i'll remind everyone of my credentials is that it was my name tag on the ppcgeeks homepage for a week when we found out RSH was carrying the HD2, but anyway

i haven't seen any information about the evo short of the screen shot and the pdf that leaked last week, nothing else has been said about what the preorder process will be and when it'll begin

and btw, the trade in program is crap, you can get 200-250 cash from ebay or local classifieds, the 142 they'll give you is way under priced

take this however you will but i called i just called sprint to claim my lost phone and while i had them on the line i asked them about the EVO. the rep claimed to confirm that it will release June 17 and that pre orders start on May 17

Yeah don't trust it. Sprint does not release phones on Thursday's..

did you call sprint or did you call asurion? because theres no way asurion would know

and as the post above this mentioned, i don't think sprint has ever launched a new device on a thurs so that breaks with tradition so i will "take it" as wrong, no offense :D
