So after having one evo on Boost Mobile and the port charging port broke, I took my replacement Evo apart and reinforced the four points on the back of the mainboard where the legs of the port come thru and doubled up the solder to protect it from breaking.
I looked into the issue when I had my first one break I found that this is a major issue with with the Evo where neither Sprint, and certainly not Boost in our case, or HTC would take responsibility for this manufacturing defect and claimed it was user abuse or something to the like.
Since then I've had no issues with this phones charging port and don't plan to. Obviously, if you are with Sprint you will void your warranty and if you have another issue you will most likely be out of luck.
