Re: Best Buys WET Zagg Install

I had mine installed for free by best buy and in less than a week the bottom-right corner started to come up. Now it is much worse ordered a free replacement. Hopefully, I can do a better job.

I put on full body (easy install version - in other words front and back but not the sides) Zagg never having seen one before and I didn't trigger my indicators... they are doing it wrong.

I bet they spray windex directly on the LCD's at best buy to clean them also.. when you are supposed to use 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water spraying it on the towel not the screen.

You have to think about it like this... it's not their gear and they were probably never trained. Some of them probably do it great... like when I order McDonalds and they get me my food correctly and even ask if I need napkins and ketchup... and the other times I get something that seems like it was thrown in at random... 2 cheese burgers when I ordered nuggets and fries... something like that. When you pay near minimum wage... you get some good employees... and then a lot of the "other" variety.

at least they fixed the prob... but in the future... remember it's not much different than a McDonalds... service quality can be a bit random... the only thing that is guaranteed is a blue shirt.

sorry for bringing up a fairly old thread, but I bought my very first zagg screen protector at BB yesterday. I had a little time to kill (and a few extra $s) so I had them put it on. All she did was spray the screen protector and then placed it on my Evo. After a day, I couldnt be happier with it. Not as smooth as im used to, but still very nice. anyhow, just kinda surprised BB didnt spray up my phone like ive read. maybe they changed methods?.?

I was at the airport the other day and there was this executive type guy there with his Ipad and a new Zagg install kit. He decided while he waits for his plane to install his Zagg on his Ipad. I warned him, those are very difficult to install and he should take his time. If one side of it sticks to itself its gameover. He didn't listen to me and tried to install it anyway. It was comedic watching him trying to install it. He ended up with a ball of Zagg and gave up and threw it away LOL.

I apologize if this is a silly question, but does having the zagg full body shield replace the need for a case? Or is it more of "in addition to" a case? thx

It only adds to protection by making it scratch resistant. If you were to drop it and it was to shatter all it would do is hold the glass together instead of shards going everywhere, but at least it wouldn't get scratched in the process.

It took my about 20 minutes to install the maximum protection one considering the instructions are wrong for two of the small side pieces. The palming technique is the only way to get those on without any bubbles and stay in place.

Here is a story for you. Today, 8/11/10 at 1:17pm EST I went in to best buy to have my zagg screen replaced. I bought the $5 protection so they said "no problem!!" I was watching the guy apply and reapply the proctor about 2-4 times and when finally he just over sprayed. The phone then became waterlogged. He handed it back to me after blowing water out of the phone’s microphone with his mouth. I knew right away to make a test call. I walked to the front of the store and did that. I was angry to hear that person on the other line sounded as if they were underwater and whispering. I walked over to the returns desk and explained what had happened, the store clerk walked around with my phone in her hand making calls to my family by accidental touching of the screen. After 10-20 min of the clerk walking out of eye sight with my phone she brought it back and told me to “bring it back to the mobile center” I then asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor gave me two options. The first option he told me was the phone can be replaced with no guarantee I will get it when the next shipment arrives. He then explained people whom are on the waiting list get first. The waiting list was full so I was unable to be placed on it. I would go without a useable phone during this time. Or I can go to the Sprint store where I bought the phone and have it repaired or replaced. Witch would require me to invoice Esis (Best Buy’s insurance provider) and if my clam is approved wait 3-10 weeks for a reimbursement. I left the store with the broken phone in had to call cooperate customer support I was told that “the only options” are what the manager has stated and it is out of there control to offer anything different it was stated to be “unfair” by multiple customer reps. So now I am going to go to sprint buy the phone out of pocket for $599.99 and cross my fingers that I will be reimbursed!

Sorry to hear this, but Sprint sells the phone, full retail, for $450. Not $600.
