Best Buys WET Zagg Install
I purchased the Evo on the release date (6/4/10) and prior to the purchase I was asked if I wanted to get a Invisible Shield Installed. Saving myself the hassle and the effort I respond with a "YES. FULL BODY!" I purchased the phone and as one might guess, I was beyond happy with my purchase.
The Zagg install was perfect also; that is until I did a battery pull yesterday and noticed the water indicator in the lower part of the phone was wet. I've never taken it into an environment where it may have gotten wet and I'm pretty sure it was due to the Zagg install. The thing is I have a gut feeling they're gonna tell me, "you've already taken it out of the store theres nothing we can do" which would SUCK!!! What do you guys feel I should do. the phone works perfectly by the way which is another reason why I think it may have been a wet finger that accidentally touched it. ](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,) |

Wow, call them on it... Call customer service both Sprint and Best Buy tell them they need to make this right as they installed it and you paid for it to be installed....

Re: Best Buys WET Zagg Install
On a related thing.. I also got the Zag (screen only) protector from Best Buy, installed it myself so i did not submerge it... but i have to say, this is the worst screen protector i have ever owned... it feels (thick) and my fingers don't slide on it well... I will be replacing this as soons as i can get a seidio or some other one that seems better...

Re: Best Buys WET Zagg Install
UPDATE: So I just got off the phone with Best Buy and as I expected they said "well we have no proof that you didnt take it into a wet environment." To which I responded, "the battery indicator isn't wet. which to me tells that it wasnt submerged in water by me or that I have taken it into a wet environment. The phone works perfectly fine but I know that if an issue were to come up Id have a difficult time trying to get Sprint to replace it. I think that during the install his fingers may have been sprayed with the water and he accidentally touched the indicator;since its impossible to do an install without purposely/accidentally getting your fingers wet".
She then tried to sell em on paying $10 a month for Best Buys protective plan "as we will replace it for any reason including that water damage". I said "I shouldnt have to buy another insurance policy for an act I did not do." She said she would contact her boss who is currently in Minnesota (random cuz Im southeast texas but w/e) and that she thinks he's gonna pretty much say we dont have proof of that. She also said that the issue has never come up before so shes not sure. |
Re: Best Buys WET Zagg Install
If you just want a front screen protector...get the ones that sprint offer. They are $12.99 for a pack of three. 2 clear and a "anti-glare" They are the same type that came with the TP2 (for those that made the switch). These are also removable and reuseable.
