It will matter most with high-bandwidth applications, such as recording 720p video to the microSD card. You'll also find transferring large files of any kind to and from the card will rely heavily on the class (speed) of the card. The "class" indicates the write speed, i.e., Class 2 = 2MB/s, Class 6 = 6MB/s. I hope that helps.

Its a free 8 gig card so more than likely it will be a class 2.

Yeah, but class 4 isn't much more expensive than 2, and putting a class 2 into this capable of a multimedia device would make it seem slower. I don't think they'd want to do that.
