Talking Guide for Hboot 1.5 users..

I don't see a guide for all of us that have Hboot 1.5.. So I will give you guys one

1. If your phone is bootlooping
  • The cause would be the kernel didn't take or you didn't wipe.
  • Fix this by using adb from Hboot.
  • Fastboot boot recovery.img using adb.
  • Wipe and reflash your rom...
2. If you need to upgrade your radios... Never take a OTA while rooted...
  • Turn debug on and adb.
  • Fastboot boot recovery.img
  • Wipe everything not your SD CARD.
  • Relock your phone.
  • Fastboot oem lock.
  • Now grab the latest RUU exe CDMA users.
  • While in Hboot just run the exe and it will update everything put you back to stock.
  • Now if you feel the need to update prl and profile.
  • Turn debug on and plug your phone in to your computer...
  • Type: adb reboot bootloader.
  • Now redo the unlockcode you got using HTC dev method to root..
  • Once Unlocked again.
  • Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img .
  • Then fastboot boot recovery.img.
  • Wipe everything not your SD card .
  • Flash rom...
3. 1X Hell really is no rom will seem to save you
  • You will have to wipe in recovery via fastboot boot recovery.img
  • Relock your phone.
  • Also need to have the 2.17 RUU exe Keep it when you download comes in handy.
  • Now when you are back to stock you will still notice your stuck in 1X still speeds are at a crawl
  • Open your dialer and enter in ##72786# your msl which you can get that from sprint eaiser way is to get the msl reader on the market..
  • Now just tell it to reset it will reboot your phone you go through hands free activation..
  • You should be set update your prl and profile if you wanna
  • Now just unlock your phone again and flash a recovery fastboot into it and wipe and flash your rom...
4. To root your HTC EVO 3D... Hboot 1.5
  • You will need to use HTC DEV METHOD..
  • You will need Java JDK installed...
  • Also need ADB AKA SDK installed with platform tools and sdk tools.
  • Last thing is HTC Sync 3.0 or the latest one.
  • Make sure debug is on..
  • Now you follow the directions HTC gives you to get your unlockcode..
  • Place that unlock code in your adb folder..
  • Apply it the way they tell you to..
  • Now some folks may have issues applying it where it will say successful but nothing happens no new splash screen saying unlock bootloader...
  • You will need that 2.17 RUU CDMA EXE use it in hboot and then update your profile and prl.
  • Make sure debug is on...
  • Use adb : adb reboot bootloader
  • Now apply the unlock code again...
  • Flash a recovery... I use CWM 4.0 older version works everytime place .img in your ADB folder.. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
  • Adb: Fastboot boot recovery.img
  • Now wipe everything not your SD card flash a rom you want... I always stick to the 2.17 builds since it's the latest at the moment.
5. If you have random reboots and wiping doesn't help and it's not the kernel..
  • I suggest uninstalling all 3rd party apps some apps can cause issues.
  • Also some apps on the market can track stuff on your phone you don't want it too.. Always always look at the permissions it requires before you run or download it..
  • Also best thing if still no luck wipe and relock and go stock.
  • If you still have issues and no 3rd party apps running most likely hardware issues... If you have TEP you should be safe..
6. Tips
  • If you buy a phone on the net used...
  • Always ask if it was overclocked some folks tend to spank the phone overclockin which may get hot while running and then random reboots to not starting..
  • Some folks clone things which isn't legal and will sell you a phone that is still activated and it may be a EVO 3D but it will show up as a EVO on sprints network online or when the techs run the numbers..
  • Make sure the ESN is clean before you buy..
  • Also for safe secure method of things if you sell a SD card used..
  • Make sure you wipe the living crap outta it with a format tool..
  • Best way to do this is to cram abunch of crap on it max it out.. Like put a few copies of your computer games you have installed on it just copy the whole folder to it...
  • Now format it...
  • When done if you really wanna make sure nothing is found best tool to use to check
  • Is PHOTOREC free and comes in handy to make sure all your personal stuff is off the SD card photos they have some other tools for txt and so on have to check out that site...
7. BATTERY LIFE TIPS:
  • Always turn GPS off if not using it..
  • Turn Auto Brightness off turn down till your happy.
  • Use WiFI if you wanna if you don't have strong signal for wireless
  • Stick to a Stock Kernel if you want the best battery life..
  • Over Clocked Kernels use more battery juice no way around this....
  • Make sure you set the display to turn off 15 secs not 30 secs.
  • Don't run a antivirus on your phone this will kill your battery quickly. Since these are linux based no need for a anti virus.
  • Best way to charge is to let it die dead and do a full charge green light..

  • Anyway if anyone needs help please feel free to pm me or ask... Your phone is not bricked if it bootloops or hangs on splash... A bricked phone is one that will no longer turn on ... As long as your phone can get into hboot you can save it
