Use Evo 3d as wireless card for pc

My wireless card for my pc just stopped working and I was wondering if there is a way to use my Evo with the usb cable as a wireless card to connect my pc to my router as a temporary solution until I can get a new card. I do not want to tether (I already know how to to that). I just want to use my Evo as a wireless card. Any help would be appreciated.

Unless your in an area.with slow.connection.you should get better then 1x.
I've never heard of using the phone as a card like that before.

If your rooted and using WiFi tether you should get much better then 1x.

On top of which, I'm sure that if what your asking is even possible, its more then likly going to require root

I have no connection where I live so I use an airave which only provides a 1x signal.

Me neither. That is why I am asking if it is possible. As I said this would only be a temporary solution until I have money for a new wifi adapter.

I am rooted and do on occasion use wifi tether with my laptop when I am not at home. There have in fact been cases where I only had 1x speeds while tethering. It all depends on what type of signal your phone gets in the area you are in.

Again that is not a problem as my phone is rooted.

Re: Use Evo 3d as wireless card for pc

I did a write up on PPCGeeks a few years ago for how to do this with a PPC 6700. If you have an old PPC 6700 (or probably any old WinMo phone) laying around here is what you need:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-apache...tml#post289213

I don't know how to do it on an Android phone though. Good luck.
