Is it possible to screen capture before rooting?

Hello,

I was going to send some screens to a friend but I can't find any screen capture programs that work without the phone being rooted.

Re: Is it possible to screen capture before rooting?

I always used ShootMe for screen shots, but it requires root. I don't know about any screen shot apps that work without root.

Some devices have screenshot software built into stock...

Have you guys tried using ADB / DDMS to pull a screenshot?

Yeah I think you're correct. I found this..

To capture its UI with a PC and the SDK: Enable USB debugging from Settings > Applications > Development, install the Android SDK, connect your Android device to a computer, and then launch ddms.bat from the android-sdk/tools folder, you can quite conveniently capture your phone’s user-interface in action.

Androinica » Android 2.3.3 supports screen shot apps on non-rooted devices

Go into the market, and look up 'No Root Screen Shot It'

Most of the screen capture apps require you to hook up to the computer, is there an app out there for unrooted phones?

I have taken two screen shots with my bone stock, updated phone and I have no clue how to do it again. Does anyone know how?

Push/hold power button and then press home. It saves it to the dcim folder on sd-card if I remember correctly. HTC added it with the first 2.08 update.
