voicemail sms from sprint prior to loading new voicemails????

My 3d for a while now has been doing something wierd. If I don't pick up a call it goes to voicemail. After the caller leaves their message I receive an SMS titled 9016 which when opened says //ANDROID:{callers number}has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call 408-970-0000 to listen MMSN followed by about 25 upper and lower case charactors and numbers.
I then receive my usual alert and voicemail notification icon appears. Were it not for unlimited texts on my plan I would be pissed off. It is primarily an annoyance now. How do I stop it???? I am using Handsent sms/mms program from the market but it comes in on the stock htc sms program as well. Tried changing notification settings but can't stop this from happening.

Hopefully this will work on my GF's Nexus. Don't know if Handcent is built in or not. But she said it's not in her apps list.

Will check when I get home

Handcent is an app you'd have to manually download to your phone to use it. If neither of you have done that, then this isn't your specific problem.

Unless I'm mistaken in assuming the Nexus doesn't include the 3rd-party sms/mms app by default, which would be interesting if it did.
