Wifi Issue

I'm having issues with my EVO 3D wifi connnecting to guest wireless networks. I can connect to my home and work personal wifi network just fine. But when I'm at a bar or any public place and I connect to the free wifi, I get a full wifi signal but I can't get on the internet or go to the facebook app on my phone. It says network unavailable, is there some security setting that needs to be changed in order for it to work?

did you try going to a webpage? I've seen a lot of airports and other free open networks require you to accept terms on a webpage before the proxy allows you access to the internet. No data/apps work for me if I don't first open the browser and accept the terms of use when I'm on those networks.
