Re: Remove unwanted contact groups
Go to People, and click your menu button. Then click view. I only have people in my Google contacts and I can check and uncheck groups by clicking on the arrow thingy to expand Google to see all of the groups.
I hope that helps. I'm lousy at explaining things.

Re: Remove unwanted contact groups
I followed the step you gave, which were good THANKS! I unchecked the ones I didnt want, but they still show up when you click on groups tab. Also there were missing groups in the list. Frequent, offline online and favorites.

Re: Remove unwanted contact groups
Would you maybe be able to explain things better if you changed your name to "meatglue"?

Re: Remove unwanted contact groups
Are you talking about how groups like Facebook, Qik, Skype, etc. show up in contacts?
The only thing I've done is hide those groups, but I would REALLY like to be able to completely disable them from showing up. If the contact is not on my exchange server, I do not want it on my phone lol.

Re: Remove unwanted contact groups
from home screen, click people, then groups. i have
Co-workers Family Favorites Favorites (yes its there twice) Frequent Friends Offline Online VIP I would like to delete many of these groups. You click edit group and all you can do is change name. Tried leaving name blank but will not let you save it. Started using my phone for work, and all i want all two groups showing, Friends and Company |

Go to Contacts. go to Groups. Click on the group you want then under the "More" drop down box, choose remove or delete group. Give your phone some time to sync with the server before it dissappears from phone. I don't have my phone with me right now to see if it can be done from the phone directly. You can also add any member to a group from there too. Thats the easiest way to do it or even create a new group. Each MFG of android will create a group with a different tittle. Example, when I had an HTC Touch Pro 2, it names all of my favorite contacts, "HTC Favorites". When I went to the Evo 4G, It automatically created all of my contacts that I had as favorites in a group called "Starred in Android" No matter what phone you change to, those groups will stay there until you delete the group. Hope that helps. |

Re: Remove unwanted contact groups
Thanks for the effort, I see what you were talking about. The problem I have is those groups mentioned above do not appear in my groups in gmail at all. They are stock HTC groups I believe.
