Picture Quality Sucks

Is it just me, or does the picture quality/stock camera really suck on this phone? Aside from the green tint issue, I'm just not pleased with my pics. The camera doesn't seem to take in enough outside light. I was on the beach and took some shots on a clear sunny day but the pics looked like there was a storm brewing. When I try to change the white balance settings, the colors get all distorted, really bright and cartoonish. I know its not a digital camera, but I should be able to get some pretty solid pics out of it.
