What is your favorite apps for...

Just wanted to see what others are using for File Managers and Launchers.

Right now I am using File Expert for file management because it can access SMB shares and has a built in web server. These features are a must for me. The downsides to this app: The program scrolls terribly slow and the interface is ugly as shit. What are you guys using? I need some ideas and there are about 10,000 File Managers in the market.
File Expert: https://market.android.com/details?id=xcxin.filexpert

Now what launcher are you using? Im currently using Go Launcher EX and I love it! It was hard to give up Sense UI but once I let go I wont go back. I have no plans on switching from this app. Its the best that I have used!
Go Launcher EX: https://market.android.com/details?i....go.launcherex

Oh and how about Remote Desktop? I am using Remote RDP Enterprise. Its fair. UI is plain but it gets the job done.

If you post an alternative app please post the market link so we can all check it out. Thanks!

I use Astro as my file browser. Why dont Android include a file explorer?

For Remote Desktop, I use LogMeIn Igniation and TeamViewer(free). I use both. I hate TeamViewer annoying pop up reminder and I dont use it that much.

What is a Launcher? I thought u just click on it to run or do Shortcut.

Re: What is your favorite apps for...

Here are my choices:

File Explorer: I like the look and feel of Astro. I did find though that I had to use EStrong whenever I had to do something that required SU permissions on my Evo 4G and may end up using that once root is done.

Launcher: I'm sticking with Sense since this was what turned me on to HTC in the first place. I have been thinking of trying SPB Shell 3D though but the $15 is to steep for me.

Remote desktop: Team Viewer. It's free and I've been using it for some time now
so that's why I use it.

I was an avid SPB Shell user in my WinMo days. For Android, it really wasn't that great so I got my refund for it.

As for my File Explorers, I use Astro, ES File explorer & File Expert

I am sticking with Sense. That is one thing I really enjoy with HTC, and I am liking 3.0 on this phone. I might play with others, maybe.

I'm using File Expert, which works great for me. I've only tried two others though.

For remote desktop, I'm using androidvnc to connect to my TightVNC servers on my computers at home. All free/open source and work without a hitch, so far, for me.
androidVNC:

To connect to my server via ssh (only port open to the internet for security) away from home, I use Connect Bot to set up an ssh tunnel on the phone first before connecting androidVNC to 127.0.0.1. Works well for me; I would recommend it for others using ssh to remote from the internet.

Re: What is your favorite apps for...

Being new to the Android game(coming from WinMo), I had no idea there were that many file managers out there and I saw that Root Explorer was near the top of the paid apps, so I bought it the first day I had the 3D. While I like Root Explorer(which I do use), the other free ones would have been fine.

I've toyed with trying another launcher but it just so hard to part with Sense because I love so many of their widgets and it's overall polished look.

Re: What is your favorite apps for...

Root Explorer has been really solid for me, both on the EVO 4G and EVO 3D.
Sense UI works great for me as an everyday launcher.
LogMEin has worked really well too.

I've been using ES File Explorer lately and like it a lot better than File Expert. Allows root exploration for when we get that too. It's free. No ads.
