Voice Actions app....WTH?!?!?!

Does ANYBODY have this thing figured out? I've been trying to customize the voice actions app as much as I can. I've been on my gmail account to tweak it every way possible (adding contacts, etc...) and it still doesn't work according to how the help video tells you. I do a lot of business over the phone and I've made it a habit to not physically use the phone while driving, I have the Ford SYNC system so most things I can do thru the SYNC system but it just takes time. So when I finally realized that I can get some stuff done quicker thru VA, I decided to give it a shot. So far, everything I try to do via 'voice actions' does not work out the way its been portrayed. I try to call a contact thru there and it does not call the correct person, I have to pick from a list of addresses when asking it navigate to a specific place that I gave the correct address to it. AND lets not get on the text messaging!! When I say: "Send text to John Smith.....We are heading out to the club at 10", it heard: "Send text to John Smith.....We are heading out to the club at 10" Which is exactly what it should do right? The only problem is everything that it heard goes into the messaging field and it doesn't even put a name in the 'TO:' field.

Now I'm looking at other voice action apps on the market due to me almost crashing trying to pick the correct address while I was driving , out of most of the ones on the market is there one that stands above all others? Edwin? Vlringo? Or is there something that I am missing that I need to do to this app to make it do what I want it to do?

Re: Voice Actions app....WTH?!?!?!

you're talking about the native voice search function right? (like hold down search softkey)

Mine works sporadically, sometimes its very touchy though, espescially with background noise.

My text command does properly fill in the TO: field.

You've got to speak clear and pretty slow when saying the initial command.

I'm still getting her to it. It blew my mind when I long pressed the button on my Bluetooth and it actually worked. Coming from a Hero with no bt voice command to the E3D with it is nice.

Gotcha, and thanks. It seems to work somewhat correctly since I've tried doing that. I must say that I do get some crazy looks like I'm a tourist talking slowly and loudly to someone just cuz they don't speak English!

Re: Voice Actions app....WTH?!?!?!

You might try vlingo. Some like it better than google native and some don't. It seems more accurate to me but since it won't accept my input without looking at the screen and touching it, it defeats the purpose of using it for my needs.

The only thing I really really miss about my old WM phone was voice command. It was accurate and it prompted me verbally and I could reply verbally. I never had to look at or touch the screen. And since it verbally verified before dialing, I didn't have to scramble to cancel the call like I do with the native google voice.
