Keyboard wont go away.

I type a rather long email from my E3D this morning and now every since then my phone is in portrait orientation the keyboard shows up covering half of the screen, even though i type the email in landscape mode, and the keyboard goes away if i open an app and hold the phone as landscape. I can't use the keyboard but i can use the functions that would regularly be on the screen (i can open apps that are under where the keyboard is covering but just touching on the keyboard where i know the app is.)

Has anyone else experienced this type of behavior? I tend to type a lot of emails for work and i dont want to have to reset my phone everytime i type a long email, however im not entirely sure it is related to the email...just noticed it after i typed it.
