Viewing 3D photos is a letdown when compared to Finepix

I've been waiting for this phone for awhile, mainly because I thought that the 3D camera would rival my brother-in-law's Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D. Unfortunately I was sorely disappointed. Not so much with the 3D pictures themselves but more so with the user interface when viewing them. First off, when flicking over to the next 3D picture, the 2D version of the photo momentarily shows before shifting over to show the 3D photo. This hesitation is bothersome and it seems your eyes have to readjust every time. Secondly, when you try to zoom in on a 3D picture, it becomes a 2D image and only reverts to 3D when you completely zoom out. How I wish this wasn't the case! If it handled this area just as good as the Finepix camera, I wouldn't have minded the missing kickstand. As it stands, I think I'll wait for the Photon 4G and see if I like that.

I'm assuming you may be new!? But you brother-in-law's Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D is a dedicated camera, it only does "One" thing and that is take pics(3d) and it can't make a phone call, can't go on the internet, can't tether....You compare Samsung, Sony dedicated camera v.s. Fujifilm dedicated camera, and LG Optimus 3D v.s. Evo 3D phones! These phones are mini multimedia devices and therefor have below average features when it comes to something that is dedicated! PS3 v.s Evo 4G graphics... I will always be disappointed!

Without a doubt, it's still a sweet phone to show off. I guess my expectations are higher since I've seen better. Sure it's a phone but it's also a converged device. And I have to say in some aspects it does some things as good as some dedicated devices. GPS navigation for instance. Now that I think about it, someone might provide an upgrade in the future that would further improve the 3D viewing experience. Then it would almost be perfect.

Except for the missing kickstand

I read this, and it just seems like you're being too nitpicky. I see the 2D-3D transition and adjust just fine. It's not an issue for me.
