Question about the "4G Tax"

The $10 a month fee for having a 4G phone from sprint...do I have to pay that for each 4G phone I have? So since my wife and are both going to have an Evo 3D will there be a total of $20 in 4G fees on my bill from now on?

Figured as much...hopefully that won't last too much longer lol. That or I am really going to milk them for every nibble I can. The 4G fee was another reason I didn't want to upgrade back when the Evo came out. Ahh well...

Me too. I bit the bullet and got the 3D anyway, because I wih now that I'd gotten the E4G last year.

pretty certain that's not true. It's still the 4G tax. that smartphone tax is covered by SEROP I believe.

Re: Question about the "4G Tax"

It isn't a 4g tax.. because non 4g android phones have the $10 charge.. Not to mention I don't get 4g in my area at all and get 3g if I am lucky and still have to pay the 10$ more a month.

That's partly true, unless you're on a SERO plan.

If you are on a SERO plan, it Still is considered a 4G "Fee"

Sero Premium plan is $40/month.

If you want to use an Epic, Evo, Evo Shift,Nexus S, or Evo 3d (4G phones)
you have to pay $10/more a month for a total of $50/month.

Re: Question about the "4G Tax"

My referring to it as the "4G tax" was mostly in jest :P, simmer guys! But I wasn't aware of any smartphone tax because I don't have one with my TP2 and my wife doesn't have one with her Samsung Moment...I considered these smartphones. I did also recently rewad though that winmo phones and a certain android phone from sprint don't have the data fee so maybe I got lucky and got that particular android phone (the moment) lol.

You will get it added on when you upgrade. It wasn't retroactive, afaik, and the only Android phone exempt from the rate hike is the Samsung Reclaim.

3vo. That is all that needs be said.
