How to Transfer Contacts from Touch Pro2 to Evo 3D

Hello Geekers,

Me and the Wifey will be getting the Evo 3D tomorrow. I currently have the EVO so transferring from backup is no problem for me but My wife has a touch pro2 and I can't remember how to transfer from windows mobile to android. Does anyone have a specific method for doing this?

Thanks,

ALi

Create a .csv file from Microsoft Contacts(assuming your wife sync'd her contacts), go to your gmail account(using pc) from there look for the Import Contacts option, choose the .csv file, import and Done!! Log in to your google account on your phone and magic will happen

You should be able to use Google Sync. You don't have to connect it to a PC and it lets you sync your calendar too.

Re: How to Transfer Contacts from Touch Pro2 to Evo 3D

I use Windows Live Mail on here instead of Outlook, so I never got the full synch integration to work. Because of this, I was relying on the Windows Live synch build into the TP2, thinking it would all end up in my desktop mail client -- this turned out to be false, as I found out after I had already activated my 3D. I managed to hook it up via-USB and upload everything to Soocial (www.soocial.com). Unfortunately, the Android version of this wouldn't download contacts from the server, so I had to export the contact file from the web interface and then import that into GMail.

Re: How to Transfer Contacts from Touch Pro2 to Evo 3D

Take it to Sprint, they can transfer your contacts. I personally rebuilt my contacts database from scratch when I swapped a year ago, as the .csv file didn't import as nicely as I was hoping. I have less than 1000 contacts, so it wasn't a huge ordeal.

As far as copying text, not anyway that I know. Sorry.

Re: How to Transfer Contacts from Touch Pro2 to Evo 3D

I'm in the same boat. I'm coming from a TP2 to the 3D.

If you have outlook on your PC at home, couldn't you use HTC Sync(or whatever the name is for the HTC syncing program) to sync your contacts and/or you calendar? I installed the HTC program yesterday, but won't have my 3D till tomorrow.

I don't recall having good results. Sprint is probably the fastest/easiest way. It has been a year now though. Not sure why all of you still have the Touch Pro 2. I wish I would have jumped when the Hero came out.

Re: How to Transfer Contacts from Touch Pro2 to Evo 3D

Haha .. I am in the same boat as the OP.

This will be my first Android phone and I sure do have lots of questions.

I wonder when I plug in my USB that W7 will get the correct drivers.

Can Windows Mobile Center work on this?
