Question about in-store pickup

I ordered the Evo 3D at a corporate store yesterday, but here's the thing, it's close to where I live but an hour from where I work - there are no corporate stores anywhere close to where I work, so it will be like 7 till I can get there. When I ordered the guy said "I hope we still have some left when you get here", and I was like what??? Apparently pre-ordering means nothing to them, at least according to this dude! So now I am thinking of stopping at one of the franchised stores close to where I work during lunch, but I am not sure if they will have them that early? Are they coming before the 24th and they just can't release them till then, or are they actually getting the shipments on the 24th? If they are getting the shipments that day then I suppose it would depend on if fedex or UPS had delivered there yet

Every store that is going to sell it will have it when they open on the 24th. It's a street date. So they will have the phones the night before I'm pretty sure.

im getting mine from a sprint store,
they are already in the store only 40 of them and there all spoken for in my area
i bought the pre paid cards so i get mine before any walk-in's can have one
but either way im gonna be there right when they open

The person at my Sprint store said they are expecting 200 over four days and they're categorizing the pre-orders with certain people guaranteed on certain days. I'm one of the people "guaranteed an Evo 3D no matter what" I'm sure he's assuming there's no issue with receiving their shipment, heh. Only the first 30 pre-orders are guaranteed for Friday, the next 30 are maybes but guaranteed Saturday etc.

He said I could show up and grab it right at 9am on Friday if I wanted to when I asked, or anytime on Friday, which confirms that they all probably get them Thursday if not before so it's ready to go when the doors open Friday.

It could depend on how the manager of the store and/or workers want to set it up.

I know that one of my local sprint stores are opening up early on release day. OP: You should see if yours is also and maybe you can grab it before work.

Thought that may cause for a less than productive day...lol
