Re: Engadget Evo 3D Review up

I think Sprint is going to kill off a whole lot of old $30 sero plans with this phone. I'm sure lots of Touch Pro 2 people in the same boat as me.

Re: Engadget Evo 3D Review up

I think so too. When I converted my 30 plan to SERO-P I was told I might not be able to go back, but then he said he only has to tell me that because if I choose to go back, I'll have to have an eligible phone and not one of the newer smartphones. They're probably counting on the old phones being mostly phased out by people... like us TP2 users... and people not going back to older ones.

SERO-P was pretty smart since people are willing to go up a little in price, but still be under the cheapest consumer-available plan.

Re: Engadget Evo 3D Review up

It seems to me that the Engadget reviews are more subjective to who ever is doing the review, where others are more structured and hit on the same points for all phones regardless of who is reviewing. This makes the Engadget reviews more interesting, but at the same time less accurate. Other sites such as CNet use a more specific formula for reviewing and therefore have a more accurate review.

Sprint responded to Engadget on the 1080p video recording:

Quote:
The correct specs on the device are: HTC EVO 3D captures video in HD quality up to 720p and playback up to 1080p on both 2D and 3D. We will make the change in our spec sheet right now and also alert the other media outlets as well as make the change on our newsroom.

Re: Engadget Evo 3D Review up

well reviews in general are subjective. There's nothing wrong with that. Just read the text and agree or disagree. I think it's silly when people get worked up about reviews and reviewers.

I'm still not happy about almost doubling the price of my plan from $30 to $50 though even if it is a decent deal. I think my phone plan went from being a good deal to a decent one.... but that is the plan from Sprint after all.

You're joking right? Most people are stuck paying $69.99 before discounts. $50 is a steal. Stop whining and enjoy your phone.

Question Re: Engadget Evo 3D Review up

Point Battery live: I am not so worried about, after a little bit of tweaking/different Rom it will be fine.

Camera: …. It is nice to have but that is not the main reason to have a phone.

Sound/Voice Quality: For a phone that is a big must!! ….

So is the Sound/Voice Quality comparable to the 4G?

How is the Quality when you have somebody on speakerphone?

The sound quality issue has me worried too. I suppose it can be adjusted to some extent though.

Hmm.... I wonder if I should put my order on hold till we have more input on this issue.

Yeah I'm reconsidering ordering one. It wouldn't be so bad if I knew for sure the Within was going to be out by the end of July, but I don't want to get the EVO, have the call quality suck, and have nothing better to trade into within the 30 day time frame. It'd be really nice if they were being released at the same time
