Re: Can the 3D tether out of box?

I know Im a little late into this conversation, but Im thinking about getting the 3d.
I was gana go for the design 4g but side by side the 3d is just SO much better.

I still dont like the 'feel' of the 3d.. it feels awkward in my hands. But its just lot faster then the design 4g (it lags on the ceruswheel upon unlock)

In anycase, I need to be able to tether regaurdless of what I decide on.
Seeing as how there seems to be absolutly NOTHING underway for the design 4g and the ed is so much better spec wise...

Im prob gana get the 3d.
(unless a better one comes out in the next few weeks tho not likly)

anyway.. what the word on wifi tether?
Im know it needs root, Im not stupid. I just dont follow android things cause Im still on windows 6.5.3..
so Its a compleatly different world.

What is the best root method for the 3d and what wifi tether do you recomend?
one from the market or one in a custom rom?

thanks

the only currently working root method is the HTC one
and the best tether option is the wifi tether app
android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting

Re: Can the 3D tether out of box?

I dont like the feel of the 3d on my hand also. Go to T-mobile store and try the HTC Sensation. It does feel better on my hand. You go try it. I hope for the next HTC to be thinner and no more 3D camera.

Try to root your phone and use the Wifi Tether - the google project as listed above.

I find 4G connection to be golden if you have it in your area! It feels like high speed connection when tether. 3G is not that great but way better than dial up.

Ive seen the sensation in a video review by phonedog and he ses that its a much more plesent phone to hold.
I would compleatly agree from just the looks of it.

Unfortunatly I cant switch carriers, I have a sero plane and I dont want to loose that for anything, going to any one else will double if not triple my contract payments.

I really wish they would have released the HTC Evo+ here instead of Korea.

It is exatly the same as the 3d minus the dual 5 mega pixles cameras in the back for one 8 mega plixl camera.

Its the same exact desighn otherwie, same processor, same phone overall.

As far as the 4g coverage.. Im really not sure, I dont have a 4g phone as of right now so I cant really tell.

3g in my area is alright. its not amazing, but it doesnt suck.
And they just repaired the towers in my area, or at the very least they are still working on them.

So maybe I will get 4g soon..
I know that the map has a speckel of 4g on the map over my house lol.
So I have my fingers crossed but Im pretty sure its not gana happen, I mean even the sprint store in my area is covered by 4g on the map and only gets one bar 4g on the demo phones.

But aside from all that, I was hoping for the evo+...
but all information states that its not comming to the us

Im probably just gana go with the 3d for now.. and then swap out when a better one comes around.
I mean I like the design 4g but with no root or anything available as of yet its not the right phone for me lol
and I just might need the bigger screen since it will be my first device without a physical keyboard

I read over the information for the app you recomended, it ses that its for 3g or 2g,
does it work for 4g? (provided I have 4g connection) or is the app only capable of up to 3g?

It also ses that i might need a custom kernel, has anyone else had to use a custom kernal to run this app or will it work with the stock kernel shipped on the 3d?

thanks
