Haha, indeed I am. I had the mod rosie transparent already in my CleanROM folder on my sd card and was installing from that. Sorry about that, I installed it thinking the saved one was OK... and thanks for being on top of it!

Yes they are sd apps and no the reinstallation did not fix it however when I reinstall the default Rosie all the sd app icons are fine just like they should be... weird! I would rather have the right icons than a transparent rosie but its nothing to loose any sleep over

Only thing so far I don't like is no USB tether built in and my internet happens to be down for the next two days

USB Tether is built in. You need to download the file in ROM Updater. I forgot that file when I first compiled the ROM and have since added it for a quick easy download.

Ok, I tested out all sorts of configurations and I have come to the the following conclusions...

There is a video performance hit in CleanROM 2.3. I attribute this performance hit to the change in kernels. I did some testing to confirm this.

Basically while nearly identical benchmark results the user experience took a hit with the new kernel. Video performance was just not the same!

I pushed a SP1 file for everyone on CleanROM 2.3. You can download in ROM Updater. See post #2 for ROM Updater instructions.

I am also updating the core ROM itself so going forward (in about 45 Minutes) so everyone downloading the the complete ROM will have the SP1 file integrated. I will update the OP when the upload completes.

SP1 also included the Hotspot patch.

CleanROM was designed to be a cleaned up Sprint Stock ROM with some features and enhancements! This is not a heavily themed ROM! All HTC and Google Apps are up to date as of 9/4/2011.
ROM is de-odexed and based on official Sprint RUU 2.08.651.2.

Updates in Version 2.3.SP1
Fixed: Bug with Sprint Hotspot
Reverted: Reverted kernel to freeza's stock kernel update2 for improved video performance

NOTE: For those on CleanROM 2.3 you can apply the SP1 Delta available in the ROM updater without the need to download whole ROM, wipe, etc.

I guess its a good thing to put up comparable benchmarks so we have some sort of comparison. My only concern is that before my evo 3d was rooted, my average benchmark scores on any of these benchmark apps were higher when compared to any rom or kernel I have flashed since being rooted. The only time I can get higher marks is if I specifically overclock the cpu but other than that, the scores average lower than unrooted stock.

The benchmarks I posted are similar to stock. They vary by about +/- 1%, lol But in fact the video / scrolling performance is VASTLY improved.

Over clocking the current ROM is not possible due to 2.08 kernel limitations (Read: We dont have an OC kernel yet)

When I had my 1.x series with OC Capabilities I could hit over 3K on Quadrant.

Are you currently on my ROM now?

Yeah, I am running your latest. I haven't had any issue with any rom I have flashed to this phone I just hate benchmarks and overclocking isn't that much of a priority.
