It puts the phone in "Car Mode" and makes a 6 button layout on the screen so when you are driving you can hit the 6 most common features you would need while driving.

flashing the new rom with the new android market, it is not restoring my old installed apps. They still show up at market.android.com. Anyone have the same issue?

I just tested it and its working fine for me. The only time I see this happen is when the settings were set not to sync in the prior ROM. Could you have accidentally turned that off in the last ROM?

A bug was noted with the Qik Video application. A flashable zip has been posted in the OP. Flash it in recovery like all zips.
