I edited the tun.ko with a hex editor and got OpenVPN working. I used the HTCDev unlock (hboot 1.5, 2.3.4, kernel 2.6.35.13-g84f8edd), fastbooted cwm 4.0.1.4, flashed su, installed busybox/openvpn installer/openvpn settings (without using iproute-wrapper.sh). After starting up openvpn settings, used adb shell and typed in "ifconfig tun0 IPADDRESS netmask MASK" where IPADDRESS is your assigned address and MASK is your network mask. In my case, it was "ifconfig tun0 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0". After that, I was able to access our intranet. Tun.ko file attached.

When I try to install version 2.3 of OMJ's rom, I'm getting the following error message:
E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hey OMJ, is there a flashable zip for the no shutter sound camera mod?

So to further clear things up, is the SP 1 link the 9/9 2.3 update?

The latest rom includes everything, so just flash that and you will be good to go.
