Getting files off incredible...with broken screen

My wife has an Incredible. She fell and cracked the screen. The phone appears to be working okay, however you just can not see anything on the screen. We have submitted a claim for a new phone, and now I am trying to figure out how to get pictures off the phone before returning it.

When I connect the phone to the computer, it does not recognize it as a 'removable drive'. My guess is this is because the phone is in 'modem' mode or 'Charge only' rather than USB drive mode.

Is there any way to get the computer to recognize the phone as a drive? Keeping in mind I can not change the setting using the screen??
