Re: Battery question?
Don't know about your question, but I can say the phone is quite the battery hog.
It was almost fully charged when I went to sleep, and only 1/4 charged when I woke up. Presumably because I had real-time updating for Exchange email (which I've now dialed back to updating every 15 minutes).

Re: Battery question?
Well the Sprint and Euro Hero have a 1500mah battery, while the VZW version has a 1300(or was it 1200, either way its smaller)mah batter, which I have read means an hour less of talk time, and few hours less of standby time, which most people could notice. However, the Eris does have a proximity sensor, which should help a bit with battery life, and devices is a bit less sluggish.

Re: Battery question?
I don't believe it will fit. I tried my Touch Pro 2 battery and it was too think and I believe that is the same 1500mah battery the hero uses.

Re: Battery question?
I'm sure higher capacity batteries are on the way.
After all the phone has only been out a week as of today. Granted, I'm eagerly awaiting a higher-capacity battery. |

Re: Battery question?
So am I. I would love to get a higher capacity battery that fits in the standard area. I don't want to get an extended that will require a new back cover.

Re: Battery question?
I do understand higher capacity is on its way(a good thing), but the Hero gets a higher capacity battery is standard vs what the Eris gets standard. I have read means this means a few hours less of standby time standard.

I know they are primarily the same hardware, but I've never seen the Hero up close. Anyhow, I've done a 2 things to help with battery so far. 1) Turned off Latitude (I didn't realize that the location service still runs even if you close Google-maps), this helped A LOT. 2) Dialed down my messaging syncing to once every 30 minutes. (Granted, I'd like real-time, but do I "need" it?) |

Re: Battery question?
Well I haven't seen the Hero in person yet so I cant say. I plan on getting the Eris next month as I am eligible then, but yeah still the larger battery would come in handy.

Re: Battery question?
I figured out yesterday what the problem was with my battery. I had done the SMS fix right away when I got my Eris, but even then I would unplug my phone at around 8am and be down to around 80% and hour or so later. I was constantly at 100% awake. I started looking at the programs that were running and eliminated them one by one to see if anything made a difference. Well, it ended up being the YouMail app. I uninstalled it last night, and now today I unplugged my Eris at 8am and now at 11pm with moderate use through the day I have 60% remaining and am at 16% awake. I am very happy now.
