Alternate way to turn on Phone

Is there an alternate way to turn the phone on if the red power button doesn't work?

i know this doesn't answer your question, BUT if you can get it on, i just learned about sdk (a program used in the new root process for ALL eris'), and adb.. you can reboot and everything to power-cycle your phone, as far as finding a way to turn it on while it's off.. your best bet might just be to get a refurbed from vzw or, buy a new phone online, not an eris.
