2.01 rooted;; whens this happening?

are we waiting for the official 2.01 to come out or what? i mean, i loved cooking for winmo buttttttt winmo and android are different, i don't have the time to learn to root and whatnot, although i am getting a new computer.. soooooo yeah, what's happening with this?

Anyhow, 2.01 will never be rooted.
Eris is going from 1.5 to 2.1.
1.5 is rooted already, and allows you to install a 2.1 ROM.

Anyone who jumped the gun (like I did) and installed the 2.1 leak is screwed until 2.1 is rooted (which may be a long time coming).

to be honest i think the official rom was just rumor and if it wasnt then its probably highly doubtful now since the end of life cycle for the Eris is May.


your best bet is 1 of 4 things:

1. just keep using the outdated 1.5
2. upgrade to the 2.1 leaked v.2 rom
3. upgrade to the rooted 2.1 rom & use other people's roms
4. sell Eris on Ebay and use that money on the Incredible or somethin else lol


me personally i think i'm leaning toward #4

Yeah. As I can't spend more money on a phone, I can't decide what to do.
I may try going to a Verizon store and telling them my phone is buggy and see if I can swap for a new 1.5 phone so I can root.
